Where can you park if you’re visiting the University of Nottingham or Nottingham Trent?
Finding a good place to park can be a pain wherever you go. But you have lots of options if you’re heading to Nottingham, no matter which uni you’re visiting.
Parking Near the University of Nottingham
The University of Nottingham has plenty of on-site parking at each of their campuses. These are pay and display car parks, and the price of parking may vary from car park to car park. The visitors car park in the main car park you’ll likely be directed to, should you be visiting for the day.

Parking Near Nottingham Trent University
As the name suggests, Nottingham Trent’s City Campus is located in the heart of Nottingham city centre. The good news is that Nottingham has many multi-storey car parks within quick walking distance of the campus. The bad news is that parking at these sites can get quite pricey.

Parking at Nottingham Trent University’s Clifton Campus can be a bit more difficult, as there are restrictions in place. You may have to apply for a parking permit, and students are restricted to parking in the student car park.

Parking Off Campus
Parking on campus at either university can quickly get expensive. It may be better to park off campus and take a tram or bus to whichever university you’re visiting.
Nottingham has a number of park and ride sites:

- Phoenix Park

- Clifton South

Parking in Beeston – Nottingham’s Best Kept Secret?
If you’re heading to the University of Nottingham’s Park Campus, rather than parking on campus it might be easier to park in the nearby town of Beeston. If you’re lucky, you might be able to find free parking on a residential street or side street. But if not, Beeston has numerous car parks, each of which tends to charge a lot less than the University’s pay and display car parks.
Beeston’s high street is just a short 10 minute walk away from The University of Nottingham’s Park Campus. And if this is impractical, the area’s also very well served by trams and buses, so you should have no trouble getting to your final destination.
