pexels-mateusz-dach-1674432-1-1200×800

The Nottingham Christmas market – also known as Nottingham Winter Wonderland – runs every year from mid-November to the end of December.

When Does the 2023 Nottingham Christmas Market Open and Close?

The Nottingham Christmas Market, also known as Nottingham Winter Wonderland, opens on 7th November and closes on 31st December. It will be open every day, apart from Christmas Day.

Nottingham Winter Wondering Opening Times

November: 10am to 6:30pm (Sunday to Thursday) and 10am to 8pm (Fridays and Saturdays)

December: 10am to 8:30pm (Sunday to Thursday) and 10am to 9pm (Fridays and Saturdays) and some attractions such as the ice rink and ice bar, will be open until 11pm.

Where is the Nottingham Christmas Market?

You’ll find Nottingham Christmas Market in Old Market Square, Trinity Square, and in some of the adjoining streets.

Things to Do at Nottingham Christmas Market

  • Shop! Browse the stalls for beautiful handmade Christmas presents. You might find something nice for yourself, too.
  • Eat! You’ll find plenty of food stalls, and if authentic German-style sausage is your thing, you won’t be disappointed. But you can also take the tasty treats home with you. Previous years have seen stalls selling homemade fudge, artisan cheese, and tasty oils and chutneys.
  • Drink! Whether you fancy a beer, some mulled wine, or a lovely hot chocolate, the Winter Wonderland has numerous bars and drink stands. Find yourself a nice igloo or Alpine hut to enjoy your drink in, and soak up the festive vibes.
  • Skate! There’s usually a giant ice rink in the centre of Old Market Square, and they usually blast out festive favourites as you glide across the ice.
  • Soar! Take in the views from the top of the 32 metre big wheel, and ride the slide at the Helter Skelter bar.

Do I Need To Buy Tickets for Nottingham Christmas Market?

No, the Winter Wonderland is open to all, with no need to buy tickets. Just bear in mind that the market will get very busy at certain times and on weekends. There may be a one-way system in place, and they may limit entry if things get too crowded.

Also, you may have to queue to skate, or to ride the big wheel and Helter Skelter.

Where Can I Park at Nottingham Christmas Market?

There are numerous multi-storey car parks within five minutes’ walk of Nottingham Christmas Market, with the nearest being on Upper Parliament Street.

However, it might be easier to take public transport to get to the Winter Wonderland. Many buses stop at Old Market Square, and the area also has its own tram stop. There are regular trams to both Nottingham train station, and to Phoenix Park, if you want to Park and Ride.

What Else Is There To Do in Nottingham?

If you want to escape the crowds of the Christmas Market, or you’re looking to spend an extended period in Nottingham, you’ll find plenty to keep you occupied:
